Ze Binne (also Zen-Binne ) is a small village at the entrance to the Lengtal and belongs to the Swiss municipality of Binn .

history

The village has always been part of the Binn valley and shares its political and ecclesiastical history with it. The first documentary mention was as Zebünnen , the name developed from Zebinnen to today's Ze Binne .

location

The settlement is located on a hill south of the confluence of the Binna and Lengtalwasser rivers, directly at the entrance to the Lengtal. It is the only permanently inhabited settlement in the Lengtal. The residential buildings are grouped around the chapel and are themselves surrounded by utility buildings.

Buildings

One of the oldest preserved buildings in the Binn valley can be found here . The Heidehüss was built in the late Middle Ages.

Chapel of St. Sebastian

Chapel of St. Sebastian

The chapel was a sanctuary in honor of the thorn-crowned Jesus until the 18th century. It has been mentioned as the Sebastian Chapel since the beginning of the 19th century. It is unclear when the patronage changed. The year 1725 can be found on the building above the portal in the archivolt.

The former altar of the thorn-crowned Jesus from 1730 to 1740 is now erected in the parish church of Wileren as a right side altar. The style of the altar is attributed to Anton Sigrist von Glis. In 1959 the altar was exchanged for the rosary altar in the parish church.
