Zech is located on the shores of Lake Constance in the extreme southeast of the urban area of ​​Lindau

Zech is a district of the large district town of Lindau (Lake Constance) in the border area with Austria, within the former municipality and today's district of Reutin . Today's Reutin district, on the other hand, does not include Zech, which is its own district.

Zech is located directly on the shores of Lake Constance , east of the island of Lindau - it developed as a new building area on the eastern outskirts of Lindau.

This district has 1650 inhabitants and is divided into two areas by the busy B 12 :

  • the northern Zech / Obere Zech
  • the southern Zech (border settlement) / Untere Zech

Neighboring communities

In the east, Zech borders on the Austrian market town of Hörbranz , and in the extreme southeast, on the shores of Lake Constance, on a strip of land belonging to the city of Bregenz . The border with Austria runs in the middle of the Leiblach .

In the west, on the shores of Lake Constance, the Lindau district of Reutin adjoins.

history

On February 1, 1922, Zech and Reutin, to which it belonged at the time, came to the city of Lindau (Lake Constance).

At the time of National Socialism, the district was called Siebertsdorf after the Mayor of Lindau, Ludwig Siebert , a member of the NSDAP and later National Socialist Prime Minister of Bavaria.
