The Clausthal colliery is a former hard coal mine in Dortmund . The mine was located south of the Emscher in what is now the Hombruch district .

The mining right for the bill Clausthal was in 1730 awarded . At that time there was an extensive forest area with a few farms and mills in the local area of Hombruch. In 1737, operations began as a tunnel mine . After 1780, several underground shafts were sunk . The promotion took place over the light holes of Louise Erbstollens . The coal mined was transported by horse-drawn tram to the Louise colliery on today's Stockumer Strasse. From here the further transport to the Königsborn salt works in Unna took place.

The colliery was shut down in 1842. The pit fields were consolidated into the new Louise civil engineering mine .

In Hombruch today, Clausthaler Strasse is a reminder of the mine.
