SCAT was an Italian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company Società Ceirano Automobili Torino was founded in Turin in 1906 by Giovanni Ceirano and his son Giovanni "Ernesto" Ceirano for the production of automobiles. In 1918 the two gentlemen left the company to found Ceirano Giovanni Fabbrica Automobili SA . In 1925 the two companies were merged. Production was stopped in 1930.

Sports vehicles were made that also successfully participated in car races such as the Targa Florio . 1906 appeared the first four-cylinder models 12 HP , also called 12/16 HP , with 2724 cm³ displacement , 16 HP with 3054 cm³ displacement and 18 HP with 3770 cm³ displacement. In 1908 a model with a displacement of 4487 cm³ followed. In 1912 there was the 15/20 HP with 2951 cm³ displacement, and in 1914 the 25/35 HP with 4712 cm³ displacement. In 1919 the 12/15 HP appeared with a displacement of 1551 cm³. A six-cylinder model appeared shortly afterwards . From 1925, Ceirano SA continued to produce the N 150 model with a four-cylinder 1500 cc engine, of which there was also the 150 S sports version .

A vehicle of this brand can be seen in the Museo dell'Automobile Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia in Turin.
