Fabbrica Automobili Sport Torino was an Italian manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Arturo Concaris, who founded the Fabbrica Italiana Motori Aviazione aircraft engine factory in 1913 , founded the automobile production company in Turin in 1919 . The brand name was FAST . Alberto Orasi was the designer. When he took over the company in 1922, he changed the name to Fabbrica Automobili Sport Torino (FAST) di Ing.Orasi . Production ended in 1925.
vehicles
The first model was the Tipo Uno . This was a sports car. Parts of the engine were made of aluminum . The four-cylinder engine developed 80 hp from a displacement of 2991 cm³ (84 mm bore and 135 mm stroke ) . The transmission had three gears. The bodies offered space for two to three people. The Due T and Due S models with a shortened wheelbase followed as sports and touring cars . These models were similar to the Tipo Uno and had the same engine but a four-speed gearbox and four-wheel brakes. The design-related top speed for the Due S as a Coupé de Ville was specified as 120 km / h.
Races
Caberto Conelli and Eugenio Beria d'Argentine successfully fielded the vehicles in 1920 and 1921 in the Parma – Poggio di Berceto , Susa - Moncenisio and Aosta - Gran San Bernardo mountain races . Gastone Gastaldetti set the fastest time in the 1924 Biella - Oropa hill climb . In 1924, all three registered vehicles reached the Targa Florio destination within the classification.
