The Società Automobili e Motori was an Italian manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
The Legnano company started producing automobiles in 1924. The brand name was SAM . Production ended in 1928.
vehicles
The vehicles were the successors of the Motovetturette Vaghi SA models , but in contrast to these had four wheels. The engines with a choice of 740 cm³, 882 cm³, 1000 cm³ or 1100 cm³ displacement came from SCAT. The range included two-seaters, three-seaters, four-seaters and sports cars. A sports car had an engine with overhead camshaft , another a four-cylinder engine of Chapuis-Dornier 1095 cc.
Races
Gino Crespi, Viktor Jockl and Ernst Uebensee drove races for SAM. A racing car won its class at the Monza 24-hour race in 1926 .
Part deliveries
The Fonderie Officine Debenedetti were chassis and bodies delivered.
