Società Albese Meccanice Autoveicoli was an Italian manufacturer of automobiles . The brand names were SAMAS and Sirex .

Company history

The company from Ricca d'Alba near Alba ( Province of Cuneo ) took over the production of Delta SpA from Turin in 1971 . Production ended in 1975.

SAMAS Yeti

The first model was the Yeti . This was an open off-road vehicle with all-wheel drive and optional all-wheel steering . The four-cylinder engine from Fiat initially produced 42 hp from a displacement of 850 cm³ , and from 1972 47 hp from a displacement of 903 cm³. About 75 copies were made between 1971 and 1975.

Sirex LMS

From 1973 the Sirex LMS supplemented the offer. This estate coupe with V6 engine from Ford was the successor to the LMX 2300 HCS . About 20 copies of this model were made up to 1974.
