The DR Automobiles Srl is an Italian automobile manufacturer . It emerged from DR Motor Company .

history

DR Motor Company was founded on July 14, 2005. The person named Massimo di Risio. The seat was in Rome and the operational headquarters in Macchia d'Isernia . In November 2007 the assembly of automobiles began. The first vehicles were based on licenses from the Chinese car brand Chery . In 2013 there was bankruptcy against DR Motor Company.

No founding date is known for DR Automobiles. The company had a network of 20 dealers in Italy at the end of 2018.

Models

The first model was the DR 5 , which was based on the Chery Tiggo 3 . The DR Zero mini car is an entry-level model . In 2015 it replaced the DR 1 based on the Chery Riich M1 . The brand's small car was the DR 2 based on the Chery A1 .

The DR 5 based on the Chery Tiggo , the DR 5.0 based on the Chery Tiggo 5X and the DR 6 based on the Chery Tiggo 5 are the brand's five-door SUV models.

The DR 3 is a three-door SUV that was replaced at the beginning of 2018 by a five-door crossover ( DR 3 (2018) ) based on the Chery Tiggo 3X .

At the Salon International de l'Automobile (SIAM) in Monaco in February 2017 , the manufacturer presented the DR 4, an SUV based on the Chinese JAC S3 .

In April 2020 DR Automobiles presented the DR Evo Electric based on the JAC iEV7S .

The DR F35 based on the Chery Tiggo 7 has been available since June 2020 .

Registration numbers in Italy

In 2007, 21 vehicles were registered in Italy. In the three following years, the number rose from 1908 and 2326 to a maximum of 4936 in 2010. In 2011 the number fell to 2942 and fell over the next three years from 711 and 465 to 360 in 2014. For 2015, 446 approvals have been handed down.
