The Chery Tiggo 5X is an SUV offered by the Chinese car manufacturer Chery Automobile since 2017 .
history
The vehicle was presented in China in spring 2017 at the Shanghai Auto Show and has been on the Chinese market since September 2017. In Europe, the Tiggo 5X had its premiere at the International Motor Show in September 2017 in Frankfurt am Main . In July 2020, Chery introduced a revised version of the Tiggo 5.
In some markets in South America and Russia, the SUV is offered as the Chery Tiggo 4 , and sometimes the wheelbase is 20 mm shorter, depending on the country of sale. The Chery Tiggo 5 model introduced in 2013 will continue to be built parallel to the Tiggo 5X.
In March 2020, the Italian car manufacturer DR Automobiles presented the DR 5.0, an almost identical variant of the series.

In the crash test carried out by C-NCAP in 2018 , the vehicle was rated four stars and received an overall score of 53.4. In 2019, the Chinapev.com website assessed the bumper beams below the bumpers with sheet metal thicknesses of 1.3 mm at the front and 1.26 mm as too easily deformable. They also criticize the short length of the crumple zone at the front and the lack of an impact absorber.

Engines
The SUV is powered either by the turbocharged 1.5-liter petrol engine with a maximum output of 108 kW (147 hp) , which has been available since the market launch and known from the previous model, or by the non-charged petrol engine with a slightly different displacement with a maximum output of 85, which has been available since autumn 2018 kW. With the most powerful engine, the Tiggo 5X accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 190 km / h.
The Tiggo 4 has a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with a maximum output of 90 kW. The maximum speed is 180 km / h; The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 11.3 seconds.
