The Chery Riich M1 , also known as Chery M1 for export , is a miniature car from the Chinese manufacturer Chery Automobile of the Riich sub-brand .

description

The M1 is available with a 1 liter engine with 50 kW at 6000 rpm and 93 Nm at 3500–4000 rpm or with a 1.3 liter engine with 63 kW at 5750 rpm and 122 Nm at 3500– 4000 rpm. The engine is installed transversely at the front and drives the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox or an automatic gearbox. These are individually suspended from MacPherson struts and wishbones, and a torsion beam axle is installed at the rear . The brake works with discs at the front and drums at the rear, an anti-lock braking system and electronic brake force control are standard (except for the simplest version). The steering is hydraulically assisted. As usual with Chery, ABS and airbags for the driver and front passenger cost extra; however, side airbags are also available. A striking design feature of the M1 are the vertical door handles of the rear doors that visually merge into the taillights. Similar to other vehicles with handles placed in the window frames, the impression of a two-door vehicle is created.

In Italy, the model was built under license by DR Automobiles and marketed under the name DR 1 until 2015 .
