Gilco Design is an Italian company that used to manufacture automobiles .
Company history
In 1947 Gilberto Colombo joined the AL Colombo handicraft business founded in 1919 by his father Angelo Luigi Colombo in Milan , which in particular manufactured tubes for bicycle frames. In 1946 he founded a department for vehicle parts called GC, from 1947 Gilco, and in 1948 began with the production of chassis and automobiles. Vehicle production ended around 1955. The company still exists in Novegro di Segrate and manufactures pipes and boats .

The company manufactured chassis and complete vehicles. Engines from Alfa Romeo , Ferrari , Fiat , Giannini , Lancia , Maserati , Nardi and Panhard drove the sports and racing cars . In 1963 the company produced the chassis for the Ghia 230 S .
In 2012, two Gilco vehicles took part in the Mille Miglia : a Gilco Fiat 1100 Sport from 1950 with start number 148 and a Gilco Panhard 750 Sport Mille Miglia from 1954 with start number 204.
