Taurinia Fabbrica Automobili SA , previously Società Taurinia , was an Italian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Francesco Darbesio, Giuseppe Alby and Eugenio Canfari founded in the November 6, 1902 Turin , the company Società Taurinia for the production of automobiles. The brand name was Taurinia . In 1907 the new company Taurinia Fabbrica Automobili SA was created without Giuseppe Alby and Eugenio Canfari. Production ended in 1908.

The first model 9.5 HP had a single cylinder engine of De Dion-Bouton and shaft drive . Models like the 10/12 HP followed in 1906 , which were equipped with a four-cylinder engine from the Fafnir works . The last model to appear in 1907 was the 14/18 HP with cardan drive. The four-cylinder engine with side camshaft and side valves had a displacement of 3054 cm³ . The design-related maximum speed was given as 65 km / h.

Giuseppe Alby won the 1904 hill climb from Susa to Moncenisio in his vehicle class . Giuseppe Alby and Eugenio Canfari won the Coppa del Vecchio Chauffeur in the Settimana Automobilistica di Sanremo in 1906 .
