Aquila Italiana was an Italian manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
The Fabbrica d'Automobili Aquila company , founded by Marchese Giulio Pallavicino and Giulio Cesare Cappa, began production of automobiles in Turin in 1906 , temporarily stopped in 1907 and resumed in 1910. The addition of “Italiana” was added to the company name “Aquila” (Italian: Adler) to distinguish it from the German automobile manufacturer Adler . In 1915, as a result of the outbreak of the First World War, automobile production was discontinued in favor of the manufacture of military goods. In 1917, the automobile manufacturer SPA , which later became part of Fiat , took over the company.
vehicles
Different models with four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines were produced. These included the four-cylinder model 12 HP from 1913 and, from 1912, the six-cylinder model 30/45 HP , whose engine produced 60 hp from a displacement of 4200 cm³ .
A vehicle of this brand can be seen in the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile in Turin.
