The Fabbrica Automobili Ligure Genova ( FLAG ) was founded in 1905 by wealthy investors in La Spezia ( Liguria founded) and was focused on the production of large, Italian luxury vehicles.

With the move to the Genoa location immediately after the establishment, the first automobiles were produced. Only high quality materials were used. The steel used was imported from Germany by Krupp . The vehicles were initially powered by four-cylinder engines with 16, then six-cylinder engines with 40 and 70  hp . A six-cylinder sports engine was also developed. In 1906 the Marchese Giovanni Battista Raggio won the Circuito Bresciano with a motorized “FLAG 6S / 40” . Due to the lack of technical know-how In the workforce, it was decided at the end of 1907 to close the plant and in 1909 it merged with the Turin car manufacturer Società Piemontese Automobili ( SPA ), which was then renamed Società Ligure Piemontese Automobili .
