Società in accomandita Ceirano Giovanni Battista & C. was an Italian manufacturer of bicycles and automobiles .

Company history

Giovanni Battista Ceirano , who had been manufacturing bicycles since 1886, founded the company in 1898 together with Count Emanuele Cacherano di Bricherasio, Attilo Calligaris, Pietro Fenoglio and Cesare Goria Gatti in Corso Vittorio Emanuele 9 in Turin . In 1899 the production of automobiles began. The automobile designer was Aristides Faccioli. The brand name was Welleyes . Production ended in 1899 when the production facilities, the patent rights to the automobile and one of the automobiles produced were sold to Fiat . Ceirano, Faccioli and di Bricherasio also switched to Fiat.

Automobiles

The only model had a two-cylinder engine with 663 cm³ displacement in the rear. The open body offered space for two people. One vehicle took part in the Turin-Pinerolo-Piossasco-Avigliana-Turin car race and took second place.
