It is only a few kilometers from the Albtrauf with the Trinity Mountain and on the other side from Lupfen - another witness mountain.

The counts of Lupfen talked originally a castle on the Hohenkarpfen, the castle Hohenkarpfen but which was razed and has been preserved by nothing more.

The Hohenkarpfen Art Foundation , which maintains a museum on the Hohenkarpfen, is well known beyond the region.
