The Dimbeck colliery is a former hard coal mine in Mülheim an der Ruhr . The mine was also known under the names Ambecker Kohlberg and Zeche Flöz Dimbeck . The mine was part of the Broich dominion .

Mining history

In 1732 a tunnel was set up in Luisenthal near the Ruhr. In 1749, the Dimbecker Kohlbergsgesellschaft applied for a water drainage system from the mine. This water drainage should be built above the Kahlenberg mill and extend to the Ruhr. The mine was in operation around 1750. At that time it was called Ambecker Kohlberg. A tunnel was operated together with the Freudenberg colliery . The tunnel was set below the cotton manufacture Luisenthal and east ascended . After completion, the tunnel reached from Luisenthal to the fulling mill. The tunnel was located in the area of today's streets Lohscheidt, Hagdorn and Dimbeck. However, the seams in this area were cut off by a main fault , which meant that no further pit was excavated from the tunnel . There is evidence that the mine was in operation in 1796 and around 1819. The mine was also in operation around 1839 and from 1840 to 1842. In 1851 it was reported that the Dimbeck colliery had been shut down due to a geological fault, but the exact time of the shutdown is not known.
