The Getreue Freund colliery is a former hard coal mine in Essen-Burgaltendorf . The colliery was also known as Colliery Treue Friendship .

Mining history

Tunnels were already being built from 1781 . On June 16, 1787, a length field was awarded . In 1796, mining was carried out using several tunnels in the length field . The mouth holes of the individual tunnels were above the former Schulte-Holtey farm. Today Charlottenstrasse, Überruhrstrasse and Schöne Aussicht are located in this area. On April 28, 1798, the mine was closed. From May 1833 an old shaft was cleared. Up until March 1834, clearing work was initially carried out, and in March the Getreue Freund colliery was shut down again. In the years 1857 and 1858 the mine was probably back in operation. In 1874 it was consolidated with Justicia. This field was awarded as a quarter field on January 18, 1861. In 1893 the mine field was divided into the Geviertfeld Freundes und Faithful. The area of friendship was added to the Steingatt colliery and on March 26, 1898, it was completely purchased by the Steingatt colliery. The Geviertfeld Getreu was added to the United Charlotte mine in 1896.
