The Molly II colliery is a former hard coal mine in Sprockhövel . The mine was a small mine , the owner of this small mine was initially the company G. Hasenclever & A. Degener. During the almost ten years of operation of the mine, the owner of the mine changed twice.

Mining history

In 1956, the owner of the mine signed several contracts with the landowners on whom the mine was planned and the mine operators of the Alte Haase colliery . The contracts secured the colliery owner of the coal mine Molly II degradation of the seam main seam to. On May 16, 1956, the miners' registration took place. In July of the same year the mine was put into operation. The mine was initially as tunnels operating in the district Sirrenberg named mine Molly , even mine Molly I , in operation. It was dismantled in an old, standing security pillar of the disused Sprockhövel colliery. The seam was at a depth of around 100 meters. On February 1, 1962, the Molly I colliery was shut down. On the same day, the Molly II colliery in the Obersprockhövel district went into operation. At the same time, a new owner took over the mine. From then on, the owner was Theo Kroemer. The Molly II shaft was designed as a barrel-length shaft and had a shallow depth of 80 meters. In 1963 the colliery's daytime facilities burned down. On November 15, 1965, the mine was stopped. On November 30th of the same year, the Molly II colliery was shut down.

Promotion and workforce

Around 14 tons of hard coal were mined every working day at the mine . The first funding and workforce figures come from 1956, when ten miners mined 878 tons of hard coal. In 1960, 15 miners extracted 3610 tons of hard coal. This was the maximum output from the mine. In 1963, 13 miners extracted 3,409 tons of hard coal. The last funding and workforce figures are from 1964, when twelve miners mined 3506 tons of hard coal.

Current condition

Today, the Molly mine is part of the Alte Haase Süd mining trail .
