The Regina colliery in Wetter-Schlebusch / Sprockhövel-Hiddinghausen is a former mine . Spateisenstein was extracted from the mine in the first half of the 19th century .

Mining history

On October 14, 1826, a length field for the mining of Spateisenstein was awarded . To get to the Sarnsbank spate iron stone seam, a short tunnel was excavated . The ore had an iron content of 43 percent. In addition, has been shaft with a small cross-section except for the studs drilled . After the tunnel had already been driven 40 meters, further mining proved to be no longer worthwhile, as the seam had become unworthy of construction . On March 22nd, 1830 , the Regina colliery consolidated with other mines to form the United Friedrich Wilhelm colliery .

Current condition

Today the Regina colliery is station 7 on the Deutschland Weg .
