The Ruhfuß colliery is a former ore mine in Niederhofen (now Dortmund ). The mine was also briefly in operation as a hard coal mine. The mine belonged to the Märkisches Bergamts district and there to the jury area Hörde .

Mining history

In 1851, three were square boxes for the mining of iron ore awarded . In the period from January 13th to April 27th, 1853, the three fields were consolidated . In 1855 was a manhole in the field Nicolaus I in promotion . In that year 21 Prussian tons of hard coal were mined by a miner . The August, Karl and Moritz shafts were in operation from 1857 to 1862. During these years, an unquantified amount of coal iron stone was mined. Thereafter, further information on the Ruhfuß colliery is missing.
