The Stahlenbergsbank colliery in Essen-Werden- Fischlaken is a former hard coal mine . The mine was sometimes also called Zeche Strahlbergsbank or Zeche Stahlbergsbank . The mine was on the Am Schmalscheid road north of today's Wintgenhof.
Mining history
In 1826 one was cleats named Wilhelm aligned . In 1827, the tunnel was further ascended , on 30 September of the same year, he already reached a length of 158 Lach Tern from Stollenmundloch . In 1829, the Wilhelm tunnel was further excavated. In the following year, 11,918 bushels of hard coal were mined. In June 1834 the mine was taken out of service. Until then, three miners had extracted 18,725 bushels of hard coal this year . In the period 1836 to 1842 the mine was in deadlines set. The mine was back in operation from 1854. Before the year 1892, the mine field of the Stahlenbergsbank colliery was added to the United Pörtingsiepen colliery.
