The term contemporary events referred to current events and current events .

The most common use of the term current affairs is as the name of a rubric in the mass media ( newspapers , magazines , radio, etc.) that summarizes current topics from politics , society , science , culture , features and the boulevard .

Current events are used to distinguish them from history . While history describes the past , current events try to paint a picture of the present. The problem here is that the present always changes into the past. Both terms, current affairs and history, outline an interdisciplinary spectrum of content. In analogy history disciplines such includes political history , art history , history of science , etc.
