Contemporary history regional. Mitteilungen aus Mecklenburg-Vorpommern ( ZR ) is a historical specialist journal that deals with topics from the history of the 20th and 21st centuries in the regions of Mecklenburg and (Vor) Pomerania.
The magazine was founded in 1997 by a group of historians and is run by the Geschichtswerkstatt Rostock e. V. published. It is published twice a year by Ingo Koch Verlag ( Rostock ). The magazine appears in A4 format and each issue has a length of around 100 to 140 pages. There are regularly the following categories: essays, documents, memories, discussion, regional history work, historical learning archive messages, "From other [federal] states", reviews and new publications; from time to time interviews are also published. From time to time the editions have a specific thematic focus. The content spectrum is broad; In addition to articles on classical political and social history, there are also articles on the history of culture, music and art, everyday history, military history and the history of technology. Reports on memorials, museums, archives, conferences and events as well as school and student projects take up a large part of the space.
The editorial team works on a voluntary basis. It consists of historians, archivists and museum experts who are mainly based in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania area. In addition to historians, the authors also include employees in the preservation of monuments or in educational institutions, journalists, lawyers and other 'non-professional' and historical laypeople. Among them are nationally known scientists such as Luise Schorn-Schütte , Daniela Münkel , Frank Bajohr , Frank Bösch , Detlev Brunner and Ingrid Miethe .
