The Journal of immigration law and policy on foreigners (abbreviation: ZAR ) is a 10 times annually published German trade magazine for aliens law and aliens policy issues. It is published by Nomos Verlag in Baden-Baden . The group of editors consists of judges, lawyers, scientists and officials. The first edition appeared in 1981. The edition is 1,300 copies.

In every second issue of the ZAR, the "Anwaltsnachrichten Ausländer- und Asylrecht" (ANA-ZAR) of the Working Group on Foreigners and Asylum Law of the German Lawyers' Association are attached to the ZAR.

The information letter on immigration law publishes treatises and court decisions on the subjects of human rights, freedom of movement / EU, right of residence (immigration law), deportation law, nationality law, labor and social law, refugee law and related contributions on migration policy.

The selection of the published manuscripts tends to reflect a more conservative view of more restrictive jurisprudence and thus forms a counterpoint to the generally more liberal information letter on foreigners law .
