The Journal for Medical Psychology (ZMP) was a German-language specialist journal for medical psychology that was published in 1992. There were 4 issues per year. Until 2013, it was the organ of the German Society for Medical Psychology (DGMP). Since 2016 it has been continued in English as the Journal of Medical Psychology by IOS Press with Thilo Deckersbach as editor under ISSN  2468-3884 .

The Journal for Medical Psychology (ZMP) published articles (original papers, short reports, reviews) from all areas of medical psychology . These include a. Prevention , disease processing, neuropsychology , biological psychology , behavioral medicine , psychosomatics , health research, psychodiagnostics and psychometry , psycho-oncology , quality of life and teaching and training research .

The abbreviation of the journal in the PubMed database ( US National Library of Medicine , National Institutes of Health ) was "Z Med Psychol" (NLM ID: 9440622). The Journal of Medical Psychology did not have an Impact Factor ( Social Sciences Citation Index ). As a readership u. a. Addressed psychologists , psychotherapists and sociologists .

Editing

Jürgen Neuser, Uwe Tewes and H. Schröder were in charge of the editors from the foundation in 1992. After the change from the Spektrum-Verlag to the Aka-Verlag, Jürgen Neuser and Uwe Tewes continued to manage the company. In May 1999, Hans-Dieter Basler was elected editor who took on the task until January 1, 2005. Hermann Faller and Holger Schulz held the office from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2009. From January 1, 2010 to 2013, Sigrid Elsenbruch (in charge) and Corinna Petersen-Ewert were the editors.
