Subject matter and content

According to the editors' wishes, the magazine should “serve exclusively to research the economic conditions of all times and peoples”, and not to deal with current economic and social issues. It is therefore a purely historical journal. The journal consists of annual volumes, each of which contains independent articles, miscelles, literature reviews, overviews of the literature published in Europe on the topic (in the respective languages) and a list of the thematically interesting journal articles from the relevant European journals, which are sometimes summarized or in German have been commented on.

rating

The magazine served to network European knowledge on the subject of economic history and to enable an international overview. The authors were leading experts, e. B. Lujo Brentano , Franz Eulenburg , Karl Lamprecht , Theodor Mommsen , Robert von Pöhlmann and Werner Sombart .
