Liang Xiaojing ( Chinese 梁 小 静 , Pinyin Liáng Xiǎojìng; born April 7, 1997 in Huaiji ) is a Chinese sprinter .
Athletic career
Liang Xiaojing gained her first international experience in 2013 at the World Youth Championships in Donetsk , where she reached the semi-finals over 400 meters and was disqualified in the final with the Chinese sprint relay (1000 meters). In the same year she took part in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the World Championships in Moscow , but in which she was eliminated with 44.22 s in the first round. In 2014 she won the second Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing over 100 meters . Then she won the gold medal over 100 meters at the Junior Asian Championships in Taipei and with the Chinese relay. In 2015 at the IAAF World Relays 2015 in the 4 x 200 meter relay, the Chinese quartet with the line-up of Yuan Qiqi , Kong Lingwei , Liang and Lin Huijun came fourth and set an Asian record with 1: 34.89 min. She then took part in the Asian Championships in Wuhan , but was eliminated there over 200 meters in the run. At the World Championships in Beijing , Liang retired in the 200-meter competition and with the 4-by-100-meter relay in the preliminary run.
In 2016, she qualified with the Chinese relay for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , but with 42.70 s she was eliminated as ninth of the qualification . At the IAAF World Relays 2017 in the Bahamas , she won the bronze medal with the 4 x 100 meter relay and took eighth place in the final with the 4 x 200 meter relay. They secured a starting place for the World Championships in London , where they were disqualified in the preliminary round . In 2018 she won the gold medal over 60 meters in 7.20 seconds at the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran . She qualified for the Indoor World Championships in Birmingham , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 7.30 s. At the end of August she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where she finished fifth with a new best performance of 11.42 s in the final. In addition, she won the silver medal behind the team from Bahrain with the Chinese relay in 42.84 seconds.
In 2019 she won the Asian Championships in Doha with a new championship record of 42.87 s with the relay and won the silver medal behind Kazakh Olga Safronova in the 100-meter run in 11.28 s . Shortly thereafter, she was at the World Relays in Yokohama with the 4-by-200-meter relay second and was disqualified with the 4-by-100-meter relay in the preliminary stages. She also qualified for the World Championships in Doha, where she was eliminated in the semifinals over 100 meters with 11.20 seconds . Over 200 meters she was eliminated with 23.27 s in the first round and with the relay she reached the final , in which she was again disqualified due to a substitution error.
In 2018, Liang became the Chinese 100-meter champion. She is a student at the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou .
