Wiktorija Wiktorowna Sjabkina ( Russian Виктория Викторовна Зябкина , English transcription Viktoriya Zyabkina; born September 4, 1992 in Almaty ) is a Kazakh sprinter .

Athletic career

Wiktorija Sjabkina gained her first experience in international championships at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Bressanone , where she was eliminated over 200 meters in the first round. In 2010 she won the bronze medal over 200 meters at the Junior Asian Championships in Hanoi and was disqualified with the Kazakh 4 x 100 meter relay. At the Asian Games in Guangzhou she was eliminated over 100 meters in the run and could not finish her final run with the relay. In 2011 she was able to qualify for the World Championships in Daegu , but was eliminated there over 200 meters in the run. In 2012 she won the bronze medal over 60 meters at the Asian Indoor Championships in Hangzhou . At the indoor world championships in Istanbul she was eliminated over this distance in the preliminary round. In 2018 she took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran , where she won the silver medal over 60 meters behind the Chinese Liang Xiaojing in 7.39 seconds and the gold medal in the Kazakh 4 x 400 meter relay. At the end of August, she again took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta , where she reached the semi-finals over 100 meters and was disqualified in the 200-meter run in the first round. But she won the bronze medal behind Bahrain and China in 43.82 s with the Kazakh relay.

In 2011, 2015 and 2017 Sjabkina became the Kazakh champion in the 100-meter run . She also won the 200 meter title in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2018. She was victorious with the relay in 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2018. She completed a degree in translation studies at Turan University Almaty and sports studies at Al-Farabi University . Her mother Oxana Selinskaja was a triple jumper for the Soviet Union and her father Viktor Sjabkin was active as a sprinter.
