The men's singles of the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1986 was a tennis competition in Santiago de los Caballeros .

Competition mode

The 38 participants were initially divided into ten preliminary round groups of three or four players each, in which everyone played against everyone. The two group leaders advanced to the main round, which was then played in the knockout system.
