The Central Bank of the Comoros ( French : Banque Centrale des Comores , BCC) is the central bank of the Comoros , an archipelago east of Mozambique in the Indian Ocean .

General

The Comoros Central Bank consists of 8 members appointed by the Comoros Government, the French Central Bank and the French Government . The deputy director is provided by the French central bank and is responsible for monetary policy . The coupling of all key interest rates of the bank to the Euro Overnight Index Average (EONIA) led to a stabilization of the interest rate differentials between the euro.

The head office is in Moroni and the current bank director is Younoussa Imani .

Comoros banking system

The Comoros banking system consists of 6 different banks, the Central Bank (BCC), the Banque pour l'Industrie et pour le Commerce-Comores (BIC-C), the Banque de Développement des Comores (BDC), the Banque Fédérale de Commerce ( BFC), Exim Bank Comores SA and Société Nationale des Postes et des Services Financiers (SNPSF).

One of the tasks of the central bank is to approve newly established banks on the 3 main islands of the Comoros ( Grande-Comore , Anjouan and Mohéli ).
