The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( Bosnian Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatian Središnja Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbian Централна банка Босне и Херцеговине , also abbreviated CBBH / ЦББХ) is the central bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina with headquarters in the capital Sarajevo .

Its tasks include issuing and securing the national currency, the convertible mark . The Central Bank was established by a law passed on June 20, 1997, and began operating on August 11 of the same year.

The CBBH has a head office, three large branches and two branches. The head office is in Sarajevo, the three major branches are also in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar . The regional divisions (CBBH Bosna and CBBH Republika Srpska) have branches in Brčko and Pale.

The top administrative structure of the Central Bank consists of a governor and three vice-presidents appointed by the governor with the approval of the board of directors. According to the law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the board of directors consists of five people who have a six-year mandate. The Board of Directors appoints one of its members as governor.

On September 30, 2011, an eighteen-month cooperation program between the European Central Bank and the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which among other things includes one million euros in funding for the CBBH from the ECB, was successfully concluded.
