The Zentralgasthof is a listed cultural center in Weinböhla . Popularly it is also called the central .

history

The central inn was built between 1899 and 1900 in the German Neo-Renaissance style. The ornaments are in Art Nouveau style. In 1920, the central was taken over by Max Striegler and developed into a nationally known inn. After his death, the central inn became public property and operated by the trade organization restaurants until it was closed in 1982. In 1996 the municipality of Weinböhla bought the Zentraler and renovated it from 1997 to 1999. It is operated by the municipal company Zentralgasthof Weinböhla GmbH .

Since then it has been used as an event hall. In addition, a restaurant is housed in it. The community library has also been located in the Zentralgasthof since 2018 .

use

The Zentralgasthof is mainly used for concerts , readings and cabaret . However, it is also used for conferences and discussions.

The open-air cinema , which has been in operation since 2001 on and, in bad weather, in the Zentraler , is particularly popular .

The party congresses of the Alternative für Deutschland in the Zentralgasthof also received media attention .
