The Center for Operative Communication of the Bundeswehr ( ZOpKomBw ) - still the Center for Operative Information until December 2013 - is the Bundeswehr's office in Mayen for operational communication (initially psychological warfare , later psychological defense ). The forces of the Center for Operative Information have an impact on the armed forces of the military adversary and parties to the conflict, but also the population of foreign or opposing states. The aim is to change their attitudes and behavior.

In addition to its main task, operational communication, the operational communication center of the Bundeswehr also operates the radio station Radio Andernach and the television station BwTV as a troop support station for German soldiers in the areas of operation of the Bundeswehr. In addition, it provides the military command with operational camera teams (EKT) that can be sent to the operational areas at any time. They then transmit prepared visual contributions directly to bodies such as the operational command to make it easier for them to assess the situation.
