The Center for Psychiatry Calw - Hospital Nordschwarzwald is a psychiatric hospital in the district of Calw district Hirsau in altitude between Hirsau and Oberreichenbach-Oberkollbach . It opened in 1975.

history

The foundation goes back to a resolution of the state government of Baden-Württemberg . This was passed on March 15, 1962, on the grounds that the psychiatric care of the population between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart should be improved with a state clinic. The search lasted for several years; Finally, they found what they were looking for in the Lützenhardter Hof, a former state domain . Development of the site began in 1968, and the foundation stone was laid on July 10, 1970 . A large hospital with 1,050 beds was originally planned. However, based on the results of the psychiatry inquiry , the size of the clinic had to be reduced considerably by over 50%. The operation of initially two stations began on January 27, 1975.

The Northern Black Forest State Clinic was initially a state-owned company and was subordinate to the State Ministry for Labor, Health, Family and Social Affairs. On January 1, 1996, the clinic became an institution under public law and initially operated as the Center for Psychiatry Calw (ZfP Calw). Half a year later, the state clinic received a managing director, who was also head of the Winnenden Center for Psychiatry . In November 1999 the management was merged with the Centers for Psychiatry Emmendingen and Reichenau . In 2006 the Supervisory Board renamed the North Black Forest Regional Clinic to the current name of the North Black Forest Clinic.

The clinic today

Today the clinic has 517 beds in seven medical departments.
