The Center for quality care ( ZQP ) is from the Association of Private Health Insurance eV was founded (PKV) charitable foundation under civil law in the health and social sector, including the promotion of the elderly is, public health and science and research.

Foundation bodies are a foundation council , in which not only representatives of the founders but also personalities from public life and self-help are involved. Christa Stewens was elected as Chair of the Board of Trustees . The foundation is based in Berlin. The ZQP is headed by a three-person board as the highest executive body. This is advised on fundamental issues by a board of trustees made up of practical experts, specialist politicians and representatives of consumer protection as well as a scientific advisory board made up of internationally recognized experts.

The foundation is operationally active and takes on project ideas from the areas of home care, inpatient care, prevention in care and innovation in care. The aim is to close existing gaps in knowledge and at the same time to set important impulses in the quality discussion in the field of care through the project results. In addition, the ZQP regularly invites the stakeholders in the health and social sector to a discussion and also informs consumers about the status of quality development in nursing and about promising models of practice.
