Zhang Enli

Zhang Enli ( Chinese  张恩利 , Pinyin Zhāng Ēnlì , * 1965 Jilin Province , People's Republic of China ) is a Chinese artist. He lives and works in Shanghai .

His works describe the familiar and overlooked, everyday objects from the artist's immediate surroundings. He creates works that invite universal interpretations. He often works in series, for example with his paintings, which deal with the idea of ​​the container - cardboard boxes, ashtrays and tin cans. Other works describe public structures such as public toilets and fountains, which can be found numerous in the streets of Shanghai.

Zhang's works were shown for the first time in 1990 at an exhibition for young artists at the Shanghai Art Museum .
