Zhangbei

Zhangbei ( 张北县 , Zhāngběi Xiàn ) is a district of the prefecture -level city of Zhangjiakou in the Chinese province of Hebei . It has an area of ​​4,232 square kilometers and has a population of around 370,000. Its main town is the large community of the same name Zhangbei张 北 镇.

The site of the Middle Capital of the Yuan Dynasty of the Mongolian Emperors (Yuan zhongdu yizhi 元 中 都 遗址), built in 1307, has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-7) since 2001 .
