Yangyuan

Yangyuan ( Chinese  阳 原 县 , Pinyin Yángyuán Xiàn ) is a Chinese district in the prefecture -level city of Zhangjiakou in Hebei Province . It has an area of ​​1,834 square kilometers and a population of 280,000. Its main town is the large community of Xicheng (西 城镇).

The paleolithic Nihewan sites ( Nihewan yizhi qun泥 河湾 遗址 群) have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-2) since 2001 .

Its attractions include the Zaoxitang Hot Spring (Zaoxitang wenquan 澡 洗 塘 温泉) and the Zhenzhu Spring (Zhenzhuquan 珍珠泉) and the Buddhist Jiufeng Temple (Jiufeng si 鹫峰 寺).
