Zhaxigang

Zhaxigang ( Chinese  扎西岗乡 , Pinyin Zhāxīgǎng Xiang ) is a municipality in the county Gar of the district of Ngari in Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . Zhaxigang has an area of ​​approx. 2500 km² and in the year 2000 729 inhabitants (population density 0.3 inh./km²), exclusively Tibetans . The township government is located in Zhaxigang Village.

economy

Zhaxigang lives from agriculture, especially the cultivation of highland barley (Qingke), wheat and rapeseed . There is also extensive livestock farming with yaks , sheep and goats . The black musk deer is hunted to a small extent to obtain musk and the Chinese caterpillar mushroom is collected.

Administrative structure

Zhaxigang is made up of three villages. These are:

  • Zhaxigang Village (扎西 岗村), seat of the township government;
  • Langmar village (鲁玛 村);
  • Village of Demqog (典 角 村).
