research

He was named one of the most popular professors by Peking University . Zhou Qiren is critical of the development of China's economic reforms and is an important researcher on China's rural reform. In September 2018, Zhou criticized the standstill of the market economy reforms, corruption and the many activities that are not legally compliant but are not sanctioned. He also assumes that the current young generation has much higher expectations of economic growth than those born before 1980. If these expectations of the economy are not met, it would be problematic for the entire system. Zhou assumes that the economic policy questions are no longer ideological, but that it is about the question of which country will be poor or rich. He also considers the PRC's reaction to the trade war with the USA to be correct and successful in the long term.
