The Ennigloh brickworks mine is a nature reserve with a size of around 4.6 hectares in the town of Bünde, which belongs to the Herford district . It is listed with the number HF-021 and borders the Bassum – Herford railway line (also known as the “Ravensberger Bahn”). Species-rich still waters with floating leaf vegetation in the vicinity of the pit are protected; in the eastern and northern parts there are two shallow, mostly sunny, small bodies of water in which numerous amphibians live. The pit itself is not part of the protected area.
