The Zimmermannstrasse Bridge is a road bridge in Berlin , which in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district leads the Zimmermannstrasse ( Biesdorf district ) - Lindenstrasse ( Kaulsdorf district ) over the Wuhle River.

history

The Zimmermannstrasse Bridge was built in 1936 as a T- beam bridge made of reinforced concrete on reinforced concrete piles. In 1952 it was widened to 4.50 meters, footpaths and cycle paths as steel girder grids with precast reinforced concrete elements on top were added, the expansion required additional reinforced concrete piles. The southern pavement was renewed in 2008, and the pavement followed two years later.

Lindenstrasse (Berlin-Kaulsdorf)

A bridge test according to DIN 1076 showed considerable damage to the bridge structure, which was then closed on May 4, 2015. A new building at the same location has replaced the old bridge since October 1, 2016.

The new bridge again has a total width of 15.50 meters between the outer edges of the cornices. The bridge deck, each with two 3.25 m wide lanes, takes up about half of this. The bicycle lane on both sides of the road was laid out at 1.50 meters as standard, the sidewalk is 2.50 meters wide. On both sides of the bridge, the cycle path is reconnected to the existing shared cycle and sidewalk. The total construction costs amounted to approx. 1.3 million euros and were financed by the State of Berlin.
