The Zion Methodist Church ( English Zion Methodist / Wesleyan Church ), also Zion on the Hill , is a Methodist Wesleyan Church in Freetown , the capital of Sierra Leone . The church, built in 1817, has been a Sierra Leone National Monument since October 23, 2016 .
The church was first known as Soldiers' Town Chapel and later as Zion Chapel or Wesleyan Methodist Church .
