The Cistercian Abbey Argentinas Solles was 1221-1790 a monastery of Cistercian nuns in Moslins , a municipality in the department of Marne in France .

history

By converting an estate of the Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers donated Blanche of Navarre in 1221 south of Epernay in the Bois d'Argentiere Solles (at Ruisseau d'Argentiere Solles) the convent of Notre-Dame d'Arge Solles (also: Argentina Selles , Latin Argensolium, Argensolae or Argentea Cella " Silver Cell ”), which was settled by sisters from the Cistercian Abbey of Val-Notre-Dame . The first abbess was the blessed Ida von Argensolles (also: Ida von Lüttich, † 1226). In 1274 the monastery housed 90 nuns. The abbey, which was under the Clairvaux monastery, was dissolved and sold in 1790 by the French Revolution . It came to a complete breakdown. Today only the street name "Rue du Couvent d'Argensolle" reminds of the former monastery. Various movable remains can be found in churches in the area, including the grave slab of Blanka in Mancy and that of Abbess Marguerite de Chastelvilain († 1351) in Épernay (Notre-Dame).
