Cistercian convent Blankenburg (Harz)
The Cistercian convent Blankenburg was from the 12th century to 1532, a monastery of Cistercian nuns in Blankenburg am Harz in Saxony-Anhalt .
history
The sister collection at the Blankenburg castle chapel, first recorded in 1199, used the still existing parish church of St. Bartholomew as a monastery church from 1252 , initially together with a canons ' convent, from 1305 as an exclusive Cistercian church. The monastery was dissolved in 1532. The church became a parish church again. Today the parish belongs to the community of Evangelical Cistercian heirs in Germany .
