The Cistercian convent of Tullins was a monastery of the Cistercian women in Tullins in the French department of Isère from 1627 to 1783 .

history

In 1627, François Gallien de Châbons founded the Notre-Dame de Grâce monastery to care for his eight daughters in Tullins , which was founded by his relative Méraude de Châbons from the Cistercian Abbey of Vernaison (now in Valence) together with her fellow sister Clémence de Pina. In 1783 the monastery passed into the hands of canons of the Order of Malta , who had occupied the nearby Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye abbey since 1777 . In 1789 the monastery was sold, belonged to the Ursulines from 1815 to 1903 , was a boarding school from 1907 and was inhabited by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Apostles from 1943 . The chapel belongs to the city. Several parts of the building (portals, facades) have been under monument protection since 1963. The street name Rue du Couvent also reminds of the monastery.
