The Pivovar Hurbanovo is a Slovak brewery , which is part of Heineken Slovensko is. The brand name of the products is Zlatý bažant .

history

The foundation stone of the brewery was laid on November 1st, 1964. In 1967 production could begin. At that time the brewery was designed for a capacity of 600,000 hl. In 1971 the brewery was the first in Slovakia to set up a can filling plant. In 1995 the brewery was finally taken over by Heineken. Also in the 1990s, the Corgoň breweries in Nitra and Gemer in Rimavská Sobota were taken over by Heineken and merged to form Heineken Slovensko. The Corgoň brewery was founded in 1896 and taken over by Heineken in 1997. Since it was closed in 2004, the beers have been brewed in Hurbanovo. The Gemer brewery was founded in 1965 and closed in 2006.
