The building registered in the Quedlinburg monument register is located south of the historic Quedlinburg old town and the Schloßberg at Kaiser-Otto-Straße 26 .
Architecture and history
The two-storey plastered building was built in 1923 as an administration building according to plans by the architect Schuhmacher. The design cites forms of the Renaissance and the architecture of mansions . There are mid-houses and a polygonal stair tower facing the courtyard . The use of shutters on the broad street-side facade is striking . The skylight above the front door is also noteworthy . The large ZOLLAMT logo is above the entrance . In front of the building there is a square planted with linden trees.
The construction of the customs office is related to the Quedlinburg seed trade, which at times was of worldwide importance.
