Zonouz or Zohnouz ( Persian زنوز, Zonūz ) is a small village near the town of Marand in the province of East Azerbaijan in Iran . It is in the mountains, so it has very cold winters and cooler summers.

Zonouz is known for its many different apple varieties . With almost 25 different varieties, Zonouz is the "apple capital" of Iran , some of which only grow in Zonouz, including the varieties "Gerde Shirin" and "Bajeyi". A fruit called "Malachi" also grows in Zonouz.

Since Zonouz is located in the mountains, there are many famous mountains nearby which are tourist attractions such as the Mahar .
